Professor Minott was trained at the Massachusettes College of Art (MFA), the University of North Carolina (MA), and Princeton University (PhD).  He held positions at the University of Pittsburgh before joining Penn in 1966.  His interests center on Medieval and Northern Renaissance Art, mostly representational arts, including sculpture, painting, manuscript illumination, and graphic arts. Publications include Martin Schongauer (1971), History of Art (1992), and articles on Albrecht Dürer, Robert Campin, Nicholas Froment, and Melchior Broederlam.
