Rhea Swain is a first-year doctoral student focusing on South Asian modern and contemporary art. She received her BA in Art History and Political Science from Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Her scholarly interests lie in feminist and postcolonial approaches to art history and representations of diasporic identity. Most recently, she served as a curatorial intern at the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art, working with contemporary Indian photographs from the Gaur Collection.
