David received his B.A. from Wake Forest University with a self-designed interdisciplinary major in Ancient Near Eastern Studies. His undergraduate thesis explored the working practices of the sculptors of the Northwest Palace of Nimrud (Kalhu) during the reign of the Neo-Assyrian king Ashurnasirpal II. His current research focuses on the third millennium BCE in southern Mesopotamia, with particular interests in seals and sealings and the transmission of artistic knowledge across media.
