Lee Ann Custer, PhD Candidate in History of Art, awarded the Douglass Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship at the Smithsonian American Art Museum for the 2019-2020 academic year. The twelve-month fellowship will support work on her dissertation, which explores the connections between painting and urban space in late-nineteenth and early twentieth-century New York City.
