She is project co-lead, with Dr. Synatra Smith, for Philly Necro-Futures, an initiative combining art historical research with open access digital presentation of sub-Saharan African artworks in Philadelphia area collections. She is currently at work on her first book project, provisionally titled From Dada to Decolonization: The Idea of Africa and the Radical Past of Modernist Art.

“I am delighted to be joining the Purchase College intellectual community. The Art History department’s commitment to interrogating how we select our objects of study and craft our methods of inquiry resonates deeply with my teaching and research on the intellectual and material networks of exchange in Afro-Atlantic worlds. I’m also eager to work with colleagues at the Neuberger Museum of Art to reconceptualize the presentation of the notable African art collections.”
