Cut Paper Profiles

Prof. Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw and Carol Soltis, Project Associate Curator in the Department of American Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, led a workshop on eighteenth- and nineteenth-century cut paper profiles, silhouettes, and other related art forms. Four graduate students and one undergraduate spent the day looking at materials from the museum’s collection in the Print Study Room and toured the American art galleries. They also met with the museum’s paper conservators and examined objects in the lab.
