WRITING A RESEARCH STATEMENT WORKSHOP

via Zoom

Professor Ivan Drpić will discuss the content, structure, and goals of research statements. This workshop is aimed at PhD students in our department, at all levels. It is useful to start thinking about applying for fellowships early, so all students are warmly invited to attend. We will discuss general tips and strategies on how to write an effective research statement, such as tailoring your statement to specific applications (e.g. PhD prospectus, fellowships, academic positions). During the workshop we will discuss sample statements. Students who are currently working on research statements are encouraged to bring a draft. While we will not have time to go through everyone’s individual examples, having a draft in hand will help make the discussion more relevant.

THIS IS A CLOSED EVENT AND ONLY OPEN TO GRADUATE STUDENTS IN THE HISTORY OF ART DEPARTMENT
