William T. Williams: Recent Paintings features 35 paintings from the 465 Series, the first series of paintings completed by Williams in his rural Connecticut studio. A masterful colorist, these new works by William T. Williams (b. 1942) continue to expand our understanding of abstraction and position the artist as one of the great abstractionists of his generation. Produced on the occasion of Michael Rosenfeld Gallery's fourth solo exhibition for the artist, William T. Williams: Recent Paintings includes new scholarship by Jonathan P. Binstock, Mary W. and Donald R. Clark Director of the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester, NY (MAG), and an interview conducted by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Artistic Director at Serpentine Galleries, London.

"It is as if the passing of time is happening before our eyes. The paintings are, astonishingly, simultaneously reference and record." —Jonathan P. Binstock
